My thoughts (from when I read the book in 2008):

Although the book was beautifully written, I have a hard time believing Florentino Ariza held a lit torch for Fermina Daza all those years, especially after her response to him in the market so many years ago.

I have read a few books by Gabriel García Márquez. Some I enjoy, some are too weird for me. This is probably his most famous book, and I'm glad to find this in the box, as S America is always a challenge for me.

I feel proud of myself for finishing this before it's not a fast book to read. At the heart it's a beautiful story, desperately romantic, with a touch of magical realism that makes it more charming.

Umm, I was halfway through writing the previous journal when somehow I was logged out, and became an AF. Sadly there's no way for me to easily delete the AF journal.

This book is hopping back into the box. Travel well!!
